Project presentation: Promoting digital skills and social integration in schools

The Erasmus project is dedicated to strengthening the digital skills of teachers and students while promoting social interaction in the school community. The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the importance of using modern technologies effectively in education. Many teachers had to quickly switch to online teaching and were faced with the challenge of maintaining students' motivation and concentration. This project responds to these new requirements and offers innovative solutions to support the digital transformation in education.

project goals

The main objective of the project is to improve teachers’ skills in using information and communication technologies (ICT). Through training in modern teaching methods such as Future Classroom Lab and the Flipped Classroom concept Teachers should be able to make better use of digital tools to make lessons more varied and interactive.

The specific goals of the project are:

  • increasing digital competence of teachers through the use of Web 2.0 tools and online resources.
  • promoting social interaction
  • among students to avoid technological dependence and isolation.
  • education about safe internet use
  • and support in preventing cyberbullying.

  • Planned Results

    • The project will develop a range of materials and resources to help teachers and schools improve their digital skills and promote social inclusion. Planned outcomes include:providing teachers with practical support for digital teaching.
    • modules to promote social interactions
    • that help reduce technology dependence and strengthen the sense of community.
    • Workshops on safe Internet use
    • for teachers, students and parents.
    • video tutorials on preventing cyberbullying
    • that address how to recognize warning signs and deal with cyberbullying.

    • target groups

The project is aimed at several important target groups:

      • teachers and school staffwho want to expand their digital skills and learn modern teaching methods.
      • Pupils aged 11 to 16
      • , especially those with social, economic or geographical disadvantages as well as pupils with a migrant background.
      • parents and local communities
      • who are informed about the conscious use of digital technologies and actively involved in project activities.

      • Long-term effects

The project is intended not only to enable short-term improvements in teaching, but also to achieve sustainable, long-term effects:

        • Strengthening digital civic competence through conscious and responsible use of technologies.
        • promoting social integration
        • through joint activities and exchange programs between the partner schools.
        • Increasing the attractiveness and reputation of the participating schools
        • through innovative teaching methods and international cooperation.

        • cooperation with transnational partners

The collaboration with partner schools from different European countries enables a valuable international exchange of experiences and best practices. The transnational partnership offers the opportunity to compare different teaching and learning methods, to develop innovative approaches and to learn from each other. This not only strengthens the skills of the teachers, but also contributes to cultural understanding and the promotion of an inclusive school community.

          Why this project is important

With the increasing use of digital technologies in education, new challenges arise alongside many advantages, particularly with regard to the psychosocial development of students. The project responds to these challenges by raising awareness of the responsible use of digital tools while promoting students' social skills. Teachers are supported through training to further develop their digital skills and integrate innovative methods into their lessons. The project thus makes an important contribution to improving the quality of teaching and creating an inclusive, digital school culture.

          Conclusion and Future Activities

Although the project is officially completed, the materials and resources developed are still actively used. The partner schools plan to continue the collaboration and incorporate the results into future projects. About the eTwinning platform as well as the project website the developed content remains accessible and will continue to be disseminated. Regular online meetings, training sessions and information events are planned to ensure the sustainable success of the project and to continue the exchange between schools.
